8 Best VWO Alternatives in 2026 (With Prices You Can Actually See)

The best VWO alternatives in 2026, ranked by job. Every price verified against the vendor's own page in August 2026, including the ones that still make you book a call before they will tell you what it costs.

8 Best VWO Alternatives in 2026 (With Prices You Can Actually See)

The short answer: The best VWO alternative depends on who runs your tests. Humblytics is the pick for marketers and agencies who want testing, heatmaps and analytics in one script at a published $79/month, with the verdict resolving in Stripe revenue instead of a click. Statsig is the best free option, 2M events a month at no cost. Convert Experiences is the closest like-for-like swap at $299/month billed annually. GrowthBook is the cheapest serious option if you have engineers and a warehouse. And if what you really used VWO for was heatmaps and recordings, Microsoft Clarity does that part for free. One change since August: VWO and AB Tasty now sell under one brand, Wingify, so AB Tasty is no longer an independent alternative to VWO.

The single most common reason teams shop VWO is not the product. It is the price tag, or rather the absence of one. We scraped vwo.com/pricing on 17 August 2026. The dollar sign appears zero times on the page. Every tier's only call to action is "Schedule a Demo."

That is a legitimate way to sell software. It is also the thing that sends people to Google looking for something else. This guide ranks eight alternatives by the job you are hiring them for, and every price below was read off the vendor's own live pricing page in August 2026. Where a vendor does not publish a number, we say so rather than repeating one from an aggregator.

Full detail, and the traps, in the sections below.

VWO is now part of Wingify

Three dated changes, each from the vendor's own announcements:

  • 20 January 2026: VWO and AB Tasty announced a merger. The combined company reported more than $100M in revenue and over 4,000 customers, and said "all existing client relationships, contracts, pricing, service levels, and support remain unchanged" (Wingify).
  • 13 June 2026: the VWO app moved from app.vwo.com to app.wingify.com, with the old address redirecting to the new one (Wingify).
  • 16 September 2026: AB Tasty and VWO launched a unified platform under one brand, Wingify, described as an "Agentic Experience Optimization Platform" covering experimentation, personalization, behavioral insights, commerce optimization, feature management and customer engagement (PR Newswire).

Wingify describes VWO and AB Tasty as product brands within Wingify. It says existing customers may continue to use either product during the transition, and that capabilities from both platforms are expected to converge (wingify.com/llm-info).

The pricing page moved too. vwo.com/pricing now redirects to wingify.com/pricing, which still shows no dollar figures and says pricing is custom, "based on factors like traffic volume, selected products & plans, implementation scope." Checked 1 October 2026.

For this list, that means one thing: AB Tasty is now the same company as VWO. It is covered below, but switching to it does not change your vendor.

Why teams leave VWO

VWO is a capable platform. These are the reasons buyers give for leaving it anyway, taken from public reviews rather than invented.

You cannot find out what it costs without talking to someone. Verified above on VWO's own page. Capterra's data card for VWO Testing lists three plans, all "Custom Quote", with starting price "Not available" and free version "Not available", on a page where peers publish numbers (Capterra). For a marketing team that has to get a number into a budget line before it can get approval, that is a procurement problem before it is a product decision.

Visiting the pricing page starts the sales motion. One reviewer, 30 July 2025: "When I accessed their Pricing page... within 15 minutes they've somehow used Cookies to identify who I was! In those 15 minutes, I received a phone call, a Linkedin request, and an email to my work email address." (Trustpilot)

The entry point moved a long way up. A founder in IT services wrote: "The tool became too expensive for people getting started. It was $49/months a few years ago for basic use and now you can't do anything for less than $299/month. So we don't recommend it anymore to our average customers." Worth noting that review is dated 24 January 2022, so it describes a shift that started years ago rather than something new (Capterra).

Parts of your own data can sit behind the top plan. A 2-star review, 30 May 2025: "Their UI lets you configure a lot of useful things, but if you are not on their top-level plan, it's not possible to get access critical parts of the data! So, you set everything up thinking that you'll get some valuable results, but then you're expected to go premium to access it. Bait and switch!" (Trustpilot)

Annual contracts do not flex when the tool does not fit. A 1-star review, 11 June 2026: "we have not been able to effectively use the platform or launch campaigns, which means we've received little to no value despite being under a long-term agreement... nor will they let us out of an agreement that we do not use whatsoever." (Trustpilot)

For context, VWO's Trustpilot TrustScore sits at 2.2 out of 5 across 93 reviews as of August 2026. Review scores skew negative by nature, so read that as a signal about the buying experience, not a verdict on the software.

The 8 best VWO alternatives in 2026

1. Humblytics, for marketers and agencies who need the number in revenue

Price: $79/month (Business), $279/month (Scale), Enterprise on request. 14-day free trial.

Humblytics is one script that carries analytics, heatmaps, funnels, no-code A/B testing and first-party UTM revenue attribution. The reason it belongs at the top of a VWO list is not feature count. It is that the experiment verdict resolves against a Stripe charge rather than a click on a button, so the answer to "did that variant make money" is a dollar amount rather than a proxy metric.

It also publishes its price, which is the specific thing most people arriving at this page are looking for.

Three honest caveats. There is no session replay, so if watching individual recordings was half of why you bought VWO, pair this with Clarity or pick a replay tool. There is no server-side or feature-flag testing, so engineering-led experimentation belongs on Statsig or GrowthBook. And winners auto-stop, they do not auto-promote, so a human still ships the change.

There is also a hosted MCP server. VWO ships one too, so the protocol itself is not the difference. What differs is the data behind it: point Claude or Codex at Humblytics and your agent can read the traffic, the funnels, the heatmaps and test results scored in revenue, then tell you which test to run next. It reads everything and changes nothing without you.

See the head-to-head against VWO for the feature-by-feature version.

2. Statsig, the best free tier in experimentation

Price: Developer plan free, including 2M metered events per month, unlimited flag checks, 50,000 session replays per month and unlimited seats with one year of retention. Pro is $150/month with 5M events included, then $0.05 per 1,000 events. Verified at statsig.com/pricing.

Nobody else in this category gives away this much. If your team can write code, Statsig covers feature flags, experiments, product analytics and session replay on a free plan that most startups will not exhaust. The trade is that it is built for product and engineering workflows, not for a marketer editing a headline in a visual editor.

3. Convert Experiences, the closest like-for-like swap

Price: Growth is $399/month monthly, or $299/month billed annually ($3,588/year), including 100,000 tested users per month. Pro is $599/month, or $420/month annually. Overage on Growth is $399 per additional 100,000 tested users. Verified at convert.com/pricing.

Convert is the answer for teams that want VWO's shape without VWO's sales process. Full client-side and server-side testing, a visual editor, strong privacy posture, and a published rate card. It is the most expensive tool on this list that a marketer can actually buy without a call, and the overage structure is worth modelling before you sign: one busy month past 100,000 tested users adds another $399.

4. GrowthBook, cheapest serious experimentation if you have engineers

Price: Starter is free with 3 users, 1 project, unlimited experiments and unlimited traffic. Pro is $40 per seat per month up to 30 users (re-checked October 8, 2026). Enterprise is custom. Verified at growthbook.io/pricing.

Open source, warehouse-native, and the only tool here whose free plan puts no cap on traffic or experiment count. GrowthBook runs the statistics on data you already own, which is excellent if you have a warehouse and a data person, and close to useless if you do not. For a five-person growth team with no analytics engineer, the $40 per seat is not the real cost. The setup is.

5. Kameleoon, enterprise capability with a number attached

Price: PBX Starter starts from $495/month, covering up to 10 experiments, 50,000 monthly tracked users and 1 project. A 30-day free trial allows up to 3 experiments. Enterprise is custom. Verified at kameleoon.com/plans.

Kameleoon is the enterprise-grade option that will tell you a price on a public page, which in this category is rare enough to be a feature. Web, feature and server-side experimentation plus personalization, with strong healthcare and finance credentials. At $495/month it is priced for a company with a dedicated experimentation function.

6. AB Tasty, now the same company as VWO

Price: not published. abtasty.com/pricing now redirects to wingify.com/pricing, the same page vwo.com/pricing redirects to. It shows no dollar figures, states "No fixed plans. Just a custom proposal built around your goals and scope," and says pricing is based on monthly active users, depending on the product. Checked 1 October 2026.

AB Tasty and VWO announced a merger in January 2026 and have sold under one brand, Wingify, since 16 September 2026. Wingify calls them product brands within one portfolio and says their capabilities are expected to converge. So AB Tasty is no longer an independent alternative to VWO. Moving from one to the other keeps you with the same vendor, the same pricing page and, over time, the same platform.

That is not a verdict on the product. AB Tasty is a strong platform for enterprise experimentation and personalization, and Wingify says existing customers may keep using either product during the transition. But if you are leaving VWO because of its price, its sales process or its contract terms, AB Tasty will not get you away from any of them. We keep it on this list so you know that before you book the call.

The same applies to Optimizely, whose pricing page redirects to a lead-capture form stating that every plan is individually packaged. We cover its landscape separately in Optimizely alternatives.

7. Zoho PageSense, the cheapest real A/B testing

Price: Forever Free is $0 with 5,000 monthly tracked users. Professional is $12/month billed annually with 10,000 MTU. Enterprise is $29.42/month billed annually with 10,000 MTU and 10 projects. Verified at zoho.com/pagesense/pricing.

Read that carefully, because there is a trap in it. Neither the free plan nor the $12 Professional plan includes A/B testing. Enterprise at $29.42/month is the first tier that does. That still makes it the cheapest genuine A/B testing on this list, and at 10,000 monthly tracked users it suits a small site with a short funnel. It is not a platform you grow into.

8. Microsoft Clarity, if heatmaps were the real job

Price: $0, unlimited, no paid tier.

An honest answer that costs a competitor a sale. Plenty of teams buy VWO, run four tests in the first quarter, and then spend two years using it as a heatmap and recording tool. If that describes you, Clarity does that job free and without a traffic cap. It has no A/B testing and no revenue attribution, so it observes rather than acts, but you should not pay four figures a year for a job that has a free answer.

One more worth knowing about: Omniconvert publishes a free tier covering A/B tests for 50,000 website visitors (omniconvert.com/pricing). Its paid pricing renders behind a JavaScript slider that we could not read reliably, so we are not quoting a number for it.

How to choose a VWO alternative

Start with who runs the test, because that decides the shortlist before budget does.

A marketer or an agency runs it. You need a visual editor and a result you can put in a client report. Humblytics at $79/month, or Convert at $299/month if you need server-side testing and are replacing VWO feature for feature.

An engineer runs it. You need flags, SDKs and statistics against your own data. Statsig free, or GrowthBook free, and pay only when seats or volume force it.

Procurement runs it. You have a security review and an annual budget line. Kameleoon, which at least tells you the starting number before the call. AB Tasty fits this profile too, but it is now sold by the same company as VWO, so it only makes sense if you want to stay with that vendor.

Nobody runs it, honestly. If the tests stopped and the tool is now a heatmap viewer, move to Clarity and stop paying.

Two filters worth applying to any of them. Check what the price meters on. Tested users, monthly tracked users, events and pageviews all behave differently when a campaign spikes, and the overage terms matter more than the headline rate. And check whether a winning test produces a number your CFO recognises. A conversion-rate lift is a proxy. A Stripe charge is not.

Frequently asked questions

How much does VWO cost in 2026?

VWO does not publish prices. vwo.com/pricing now redirects to wingify.com/pricing, which on 1 October 2026 shows Growth, Pro and Enterprise tiers whose only call to action is "Schedule a Demo," with no dollar figures anywhere on the page. Its FAQ says pricing is custom, based on factors including traffic volume and the products and plans you select. Wingify offers a 30-day free trial with no credit card required. Third-party figures circulate widely, but none of them appears on a vendor page, so treat them as unverified.

Is VWO the same as Wingify now?

Yes. VWO and AB Tasty announced a merger on 20 January 2026, and on 16 September 2026 they launched a unified platform under one brand, Wingify. Wingify describes VWO and AB Tasty as product brands within Wingify, says existing customers may continue to use either during the transition, and expects their capabilities to converge. The VWO app moved to app.wingify.com on 13 June 2026, and vwo.com/pricing now redirects to wingify.com/pricing. At the merger announcement the companies said existing contracts, pricing, service levels and support would remain unchanged.

What is the best free VWO alternative?

Statsig has the strongest free plan for teams that can write code: 2M metered events per month, unlimited flag checks, 50,000 session replays and unlimited seats, verified in August 2026. GrowthBook's free Starter plan is the better pick if you want unlimited traffic and unlimited experiments on 3 users. For heatmaps and recordings alone, Microsoft Clarity is free with no traffic cap.

Which VWO alternative is cheapest for a marketing team?

Zoho PageSense Enterprise at $29.42/month billed annually is the cheapest tier on this list that actually includes A/B testing, capped at 10,000 monthly tracked users. Humblytics at $79/month bundles A/B testing with heatmaps, funnels, analytics and revenue attribution in one script, so compare it against the combined cost of the tools it replaces rather than against a single line item.

Does any VWO alternative tie test results to revenue?

Humblytics scores an experiment on the Stripe revenue it produced rather than on a click or a form submit, using first-party UTM attribution. Convert and Kameleoon support revenue goals through integrations and custom metrics. Most tools in this category report conversion-rate lift and leave the revenue question to you.

Which VWO alternatives ship an MCP server?

VWO, PostHog, LaunchDarkly, Mixpanel and Humblytics all ship MCP servers in 2026, so an agent in Claude or Codex can query your experiment data directly. The protocol is not a differentiator any more. What differs is what the agent can resolve a verdict against, which for Humblytics is a Stripe charge rather than a conversion event.

Can I move my VWO test history to another tool?

Not directly. No tool in this category imports another's experiment history, because the statistical models and the event definitions differ. The practical migration is to run both tools in parallel for two to four weeks, export your VWO results as a static record for reference, and start fresh in the new platform. Plan for that gap before you cancel the contract.

Is VWO worth it if I only run a few tests a year?

Probably not. If you run fewer than roughly one test a month, the fixed cost of an enterprise experimentation platform is hard to justify, and the tool tends to drift into being an expensive heatmap viewer. Either commit to a testing cadence that earns the licence, or move to a tool priced for occasional use.

The takeaway

VWO's problem for most of the people reading this is not capability. It is that you have to ask permission to find out what it costs, and then commit annually to a platform you have not used at volume yet.

If an engineer runs your experiments, take the free tier at Statsig or GrowthBook and spend the budget elsewhere. If a marketer runs them, the question is whether you want another tool that reports conversion-rate lift, or one that reports the revenue. Humblytics publishes $79/month, and answers that second question directly.
