Optimizely Pricing 2026: What Buyers Actually Pay (Checked October 2026)
Optimizely publishes no prices. Here is what its own pages say, what procurement data reports buyers pay, and the cheaper alternatives that publish a number, all re-checked on October 8, 2026.

The short answer: As of October 8, 2026, Optimizely publishes no list price for any paid product. Its plans page says "Every Optimizely plan is individually packaged" and ends in a lead form (optimizely.com/plans). The only price Optimizely publishes is free, for Optimizely Rollouts (feature flags plus one A/B test). Procurement marketplace Vendr reports a median of $81,447 per year based on 126 purchases, in a range of $26,460 to $261,075. That is reported secondhand, not published by Optimizely. If you want a published number instead, Humblytics publishes $79/month for marketer-run tests scored on revenue, and Zoho PageSense is cheaper still for basic A/B testing. On sticker price alone, Zoho PageSense is cheaper at $29.42/month billed annually but caps tracked users, and Statsig and GrowthBook have free tiers for engineering teams.
There are two kinds of numbers in any article about Optimizely pricing, and almost nobody separates them. There is what the vendor publishes, which is nearly nothing. And there is what buyers report paying, which comes from procurement platforms and review sites of varying quality.
This page keeps them apart. Every figure below is labelled vendor-published or reported secondhand, with the URL and the date it was read. If a number could not be traced to a page we opened on October 8, 2026, it is not here.

Quick verdict
Optimizely is an enterprise purchase priced by negotiation, not a tool you can budget from a web page. The lowest contract Vendr reports is $26,460 a year, and its estimate for experimentation alone starts around $50,000. If your experimentation budget is below that, you are outside the addressable range and the sales process will tell you slowly. If your budget is six figures and you are buying content management or commerce alongside experimentation, Optimizely is a credible shortlist entry and the bundling discount is real.
The honest problem for a growth lead is not the price. It is that you cannot know the price until you have spent weeks finding out.
What Optimizely publishes on its own pricing page
optimizely.com/pricing redirects to optimizely.com/plans. The complete pricing content on that page, quoted exactly on October 8, 2026:
"Every Optimizely plan is individually packaged. Tell us a bit about your digital needs, and we'll create a plan together."
The page's meta description reads "Customized pricing to your specific needs, so you can make the next step towards optimized experiences."
Below that is a form: first name, last name, work email, company, job title, phone, country and "What challenges can we help you with?" There is no number, no tier table and no currency symbol on the page.
The page does publish the product menu, which matters because "Optimizely pricing" is not one price. It lists three headline products, Agentic CMS, Agentic Experimentation and Agent Platform, plus seven more: Content Marketing Platform, Analytics, Personalization, Commerce, Asset Management, Data Platform and Feature Management.
Optimizely's developer documentation also splits experimentation into Web Experimentation (client-side, the visual editor most marketers mean) and Feature Experimentation (server-side, SDK-based). A quote for "Optimizely" can mean either, both, or a bundle with the CMS attached.
The one price Optimizely does publish
From Optimizely's developer documentation, retrieved October 8, 2026:
"Optimizely Rollouts is the free plan for Feature Experimentation, designed for startups and teams looking to get started. It includes free feature flags and the ability to run one A/B test."
Source: docs.developers.optimizely.com.
This is vendor-published and current. It is also narrow: server-side feature flagging with a single A/B test, a developer on-ramp rather than a marketing experimentation program. It does not include Web Experimentation's visual editor.
What Optimizely costs, according to Vendr
Optimizely does not publish these. A procurement marketplace does.
Vendr aggregates anonymized SaaS contracts from buyers it negotiates for. Its Optimizely page, read October 8, 2026, reports:
- Median buyer pays $81,447 per year, "based on data from 126 purchases"
- Range: $26,460 (low) to $261,075 (high)
- Average savings: 13.11% (rounded to 13% in the body)
One caveat before you quote that figure. The same page labels $81,447 as "Avg Contract Value" in its header and as "Median buyer pays" in the body, and gives the sample as 100 "Deals handled" in the header and 126 purchases in the body. Those are not the same statistic or the same sample. It is still the best public anchor for an Optimizely contract, but treat it as a rough centre of mass, not a benchmark.
Vendr also publishes editorial ranges. These are estimates, not measured contract values:
- Experimentation list pricing "starts around $50,000 to $80,000 annually for mid-market deployments (under 5 million MTUs) and scales to $200,000+" at enterprise traffic
- Contract minimum: $40,000 to $50,000 per year, from its Optimizely vs Contentful CMS table
- Professional services (implementation, migration, training, support) "can represent 20 to 50% of total first-year costs"
- Training: $5,000 to $20,000
- Renewal escalators: 3% to 7% a year, negotiable upfront
- Multi-year terms commonly unlock 10% to 25% discounts
Any Optimizely price with no vendor URL and no read date should be treated as folklore. Most figures circulating on third-party sites trace back to older snapshots of this same Vendr page.
What drives the number up
- How many products you take. Experimentation alone is one line. Experimentation plus CMS or Commerce is a different order of magnitude.
- Traffic, measured as monthly tracked users, sessions or page views. Ask which unit your quote uses.
- Web versus Feature Experimentation. Client-side and server-side are separate products.
- Contract term. Multi-year commitments are the largest reported discount lever.
- Overage terms. Vendr notes that buyers who negotiate higher usage caps and lower overage rates upfront avoid surprise costs.
- Services. Reported at 20 to 50% of first-year cost, quoted separately.
What the sales process costs you in time
To learn Optimizely's price you submit the form, take a discovery call, get scoped, receive a proposal and negotiate. Vendr recommends engaging renewals 90 to 120 days before expiration and notes Optimizely's fiscal year ends in December, so Q4 brings more flexibility. Those two pieces of advice describe a purchase measured in months.
If your evaluation question is "will testing this page earn us more money," a quarter-long procurement cycle is a real cost, and it lands before you have run a single test.
Where Optimizely's pricing model works for you, and against you
For you:
- Everything is negotiable. Vendr reports 13.11% average savings.
- Bundling is cheaper than buying CMS, commerce and experimentation from three vendors.
- A scoped enterprise relationship, with security review and SLAs handled.
- Real technical assets: the Stats Engine, the free Rollouts tier, and a remote MCP server for experiments (optimizely.com/products/feature-management, retrieved Oct 8, 2026).
Against you:
- You cannot budget without a sales cycle.
- Price discovery is asymmetric. The vendor knows what buyers pay. You do not.
- The reported floor excludes most small teams. A team spending $5,000 a month on paid ads is not the buyer.
- Escalators compound. A 3% to 7% increase on an $80,000 contract is $2,400 to $5,600 a year that nobody re-approved.
Cheaper Optimizely alternatives with published prices
Disclosure: we make Humblytics. Every price below was read off the vendor's page on October 8, 2026. The full field, with strengths and watchouts for each, is in Optimizely alternatives.
| Tool | Best for | Entry paid price | Free option |
|---|---|---|---|
| Humblytics | Marketers who want tests scored on revenue | $79/mo | 14-day trial |
| Zoho PageSense | Lowest sticker price for A/B testing | $29.42/mo billed annually, 10K tracked users | Forever Free (no A/B) |
| Mida | Budget visual testing | $224/mo billed annually, 50K tested users | Free plan |
| Convert Experiences | Marketers who also need server-side tests | $299/mo billed annually, $399 monthly | 15-day trial |
| Kameleoon | Enterprise like-for-like with a published price | From $495/mo | 30-day trial |
| Statsig | Engineering-led experiments | $150/mo (Pro) | Free, 2M events/mo |
| GrowthBook | Warehouse-native, open source | $40/seat/mo (Pro) | Free, 3 users |
| Wingify (VWO and AB Tasty) | Full CRO suite | Quote required | 30-day trial |
Humblytics publishes its prices: Business $79/month, Scale $279/month, Enterprise custom, with a 14-day trial and no call required. One script carries a no-code visual editor, split URL tests, heatmaps, funnels and Meta and Google Ads attribution, and each variant is scored on the revenue it produced in Stripe or Foxy. It is not the same product as Optimizely: no server-side testing, no feature flags, no personalization, no multivariate testing, no session replay, no CMS. Tests can stop automatically after a set duration you choose; promoting the winner is your call. See pricing and Humblytics vs Optimizely.
Decision guide
Choose Optimizely if you:
- Need client-side and server-side experimentation under one governance model
- Are buying CMS, commerce or personalization at the same time and want the bundle
- Have a six-figure software budget and a procurement function
- Need enterprise vendor review, SLAs and a named contact
- Run enough traffic that statistical power, not budget, is your constraint
Look elsewhere if you:
- Need a number this week
- Spend less than roughly $26,000 a year on experimentation tooling, the lowest contract Vendr reports
- Are a growth lead or agency whose real question is which ads and pages make money
- Want to try the product before you talk to a salesperson
- Would rather your test verdict resolve in revenue than in a conversion event
Conclusion
Optimizely's price is not secret, it is unpublished, and those are different problems. The number exists and is knowable, just not by you, not for free and not quickly.
The best public anchor on October 8, 2026 is Vendr's reported median of $81,447 per year across 126 purchases, in a range from $26,460 to $261,075, reported secondhand with the caveats above. The only number Optimizely publishes is free, for Rollouts.
If your budget is enterprise and your requirements are broad, that opacity is a negotiation you can win. If your budget is a monthly line item, a published price is worth more than a negotiated one. Compare Optimizely with its closest suite rival in VWO vs Optimizely.
Frequently asked questions

Does Optimizely publish pricing on its website?
No. As of October 8, 2026, optimizely.com/pricing redirects to optimizely.com/plans, which shows a lead form and the sentence "Every Optimizely plan is individually packaged." The only price Optimizely publishes is $0 for Optimizely Rollouts, its free Feature Experimentation plan.
What is the cheapest alternative to Optimizely for marketers?
Humblytics is $79/month published, with a no-code visual editor, split URL tests, heatmaps, funnels and revenue per variant from Stripe or Foxy.
